Retro kitchen - 1950's style

custom built retro 50's kitchen with formica worktop

 

For this kitchen, the clients asked me if I could create a 1950's look. They provided photos of original kitchens from the period for me to work from.

Chrome yellow formica kitchen worktop with aluminium edging

 

 

 

 

 

The worktop was custom made using "Chrome Yellow" formica with a brushed aluminium edging.

Chrome finger-pull handles are inset in the doors which overlay the bespoke cabinet frames.

To complete the retro look, the doors have radiused edges and corners.

The angled wall cabinet was designed to have matching handles and formica sliding doors.

The upper doors are reeded glass - still available at most glass merchants!
